Welcome to the English version of the Polish music magazine Porcys. The bulk of texts on this site are not literary translations of original articles, but merely simplified summaries meant only to present authors' opinions and judgments. After five long years of struggle with the local readership we decided to reward ourselves for our efforts and make our views available to a wider audience. We are very aware of our inadequacies as translators, but instead of hiring professionals and getting into debt, we fell back on those of us whose command of English is, we feel, fairly decent. Yeah, this probably won't be an enjoyable read for all you English speakers, some of you might however appreciate our taste. We would also like to point out that in some cases certain peculiarities of the texts may not so much be the result of the inadequacies in the translations as be due to the specific style of the originals.
[Note that up to March 2007 our archives counted over two thousand reviews and features. It was impossible to translate even a fraction of those texts, hence we limited ourselves only to those we felt were most important. In future we will continue to draw upon the archives and add translations of old articles.]
